“Our program provides a safe and emotionally secure environment in which the children learn through hands on activities,” said Deborah Bedard, Director of Education and Children’s Services. “The children also learn proper social skills in this environment. Recently when the White Pigeon Head Start class could not get outside due to the weather, their teachers brought the outside ‘in.’  They did this by turning their block area into a gross motor area, which included a balance beam, tunnel and hula hoops.”

 This programprovides quality educational and social experiences for preschool children at no cost to families. Children participate in fun activities that encourage them to develop socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally. Head Start programs are funded in part by the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families.

 Community Action is starting to enroll children for next year’s Head Start, and Early Head Start classrooms.
