Transportation

Vans with and without lifts are available to transport seniors over age 60 and disabled persons 18 years of age and over to medical appointments, employment sites, congregate meal centers, grocery shopping, and other necessary trips.

Transportation is provided by professional and courteous Community Action staff.

To arrange service in Albion, Tekonsha, Homer, and other areas in eastern Calhoun County, phone: (269) 565-4144, Toll Free: 1-800-994-9876.

Service is provided in the Battle Creek area Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 4:30pm; and in the Albion area Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm and Saturday 8:00am to 11:30am. Service must be scheduled 24 hours in advance, and is subject to availability.

Requirements:

Seniors 60 years of age and over, or disabled persons 18 years of age and over. Eligibility for Transportation is not based on income; seniors and disabled persons of all financial levels are invited to request needed services.

Disabled persons under 60 years of age must have a disability form filled out by a physician stating their disability.  Forms are available by calling (269) 565-4144 or 800-994-9876 and staff will mail to you or fax to your physician.
